As we bid farewell...

Awww this is me when I was only 5 days old

Okay, have to admit I'm #sad writing this final blog post because London has literally been amazing. It's been so amazing I can't even describe it properly because I just can't do it. I wouldn't give her the justice she deserves. Not only have we been able to take classes with British professors and be given a more worldly view of topics I've been learning all throughout college, but we've also [finally] had an opportunity to talk with, learn more about, and work with British people. This experience has been so fulfilling for me, and I'm so glad I got to share it with people like everyone who attended this trip.

I also can't forget my girl Tracey Weiss who has literally been a QUEEN. Just because of that, this blog is dedicated to you, girl.

Tracey, your class was extremely enlightening and enjoyable for me to take part in because at one point in time, I was a communication major and I switched over to advertising because I truly had no idea why I even went in as a communication major to begin with. To this day, switching over to advertising was a great decision, but I think if I wouldn't taken this class earlier on, there's a possibility I would've stuck with it, and here's why:

The topics we learned in this class were interesting. I don't mean the interesting where you're in a class and you hear some random fact and you're like "oh cool" and forget about it 10 minutes later. I mean this class seriously now makes me think on a deeper level, and I know both your approach to the content and living in London helped do that for me.

One thing you taught us that I will never forget is when we talked about how communication is how the other person perceives your message. It's not about your intention of the message, it's about how they perceive it. Like, mind blown. I literally think about that all the time, and in turn I have been much more mindful in the way I communicate to others because I don't want to give off the wrong message.

Mindfulness is a personal goal of mine as I'm in college and I truly enjoyed learning the insights on communication because I feel this will benefit my growth as a person as I finish college and become a real grown up.

One of my favorite excursions this semester was visiting the Sikh Temple. I enjoyed this because I got to learn more about a way of living and religion that I honestly didn't even know existed. It definitely contributed to my "worldly" experience. It was also great to experience and see and eat in the community kitchen as well as watch the worship and praying in the main room.

I also loved experiencing High Tea, because I'm almost positive I would have never done this otherwise, and It's just a London experience you have to do. It was fun being able to sit with friends and feel like the queen, even if it was only for 3 hours.

So, thank you Tracey for electing to come with us and join us on our trip. You truly made it so fun and I'm glad I was able to say I've been to the pub with my college professor in London before. That'll be my best memory yet.
